Gold Label coco substrate
R300.00Grodan Delta 150mm? Rockwool Cube
R135.00 – R5,499.00The Grodan 6″ cube sometimes refered to as a Hugo Block . The cubes are a sterile hydroponic growing medium with a pre cut 1.5″ hole to hold the seedling or cutting you are repotting. Some growers will use the use the cubes till roots show out pf the bottom and then re-pot into a larger pot or system. Other growers growing small to medium sized plants will use the 6″ cube to house their plants until harvest. The Grodan cubes need to be conditioned or soaked before planting. See BELOW for?a great video on how to condition different sizes of cubes.

Vermiculite
R26.00 – R273.00Vermiculite is a mined material. In its natural state it resembles mica rock, but when quickly heated, it expands due to the generation of interlaminar steam. Vermiculite is most frequently used in conjunction with perlite as the two complement each other well. 80% porosity 10% air space 60% moisture (Please Select Size Below)
Perlite
R32.50 – R455.00Perlite, made from processed granules of volcanic rock, has excellent capillary properties and doesn?t compact, which allows for good aeration. Used in pot culture or with drippers, Perlite is one of the best hydroponic growing mediums around. 68% porosity 30% air space 50% moisture (please Select Size Below)
Coco Peat Brick
R95.00Coco peat is a substitute for peat, because it is free of bacteria and most fungal spores, and is sustainably produced without the environmental damage caused by peat mining. It can be be mixed with sand, compost and fertilizer to make good quality potting soil. Coco peat generally has an acidity in the range of pH ? 5.5 to 6.5.
Hydro Balls
R20.00 – R395.00These marble sized balls of clay are unique type of soil less media. Its the perfect media choice for ebb and flow and drain to waste. Water flows between the pebbles quickly, supplying the roots with nutrients, yet allowing the roots to stay oxygenated. Roots and plants develop healthy and vibrant. (Please Select Size Below)
Rock Wool
R2.90 – R195.00Rockwool can hold large quantities of water and air that aid root growth and nutrient uptake in hydroponics; the fibrous nature also provides a good mechanical structure to hold the plant stable. It is used primarily for drip hydroponic systems.
Rockwool is made by melting a combination of rock and sand and then spinning the mixture to make fibers which are formed into different shapes and sizes.
Rockwool Cubes have a pH of roughly 7.8. This is pretty alkaline, yet our plants prefer to grow in a slightly more acidic environment (between 5.5 – 6.5). In order to prepare our Rockwell cubes for the seeds, we need to soak them in some pH adjusted water, that way they have everything the seeds need to germinate and sprout; water and a slightly acidic environment.
